With over 25 years in the damage prevention industry including years of training experience, I’m able to explain locating concepts, workflows, and standards in a way that is accessible to the layperson. A past president of the locating trade association NULCA, I chaired committees for locating training and damage investigation processes. A regular quarterly contributor to Damage Prevention Professional magazine, I have published more than 50 articles on locating and damage prevention. I also co-authored the book, “Locating Buried Utilities: A Professional Approach” with Jeff Ambrose Mitchell. From 2004-2006, I was head of training and safety for the nation’s largest contract locator. Since 2011, I have owned and operated my own locating business, ZoneOne Locating, providing locating support to excavators, facility owners, and homeowners.
